Inspiring Words from Andre Leon Talley

Fab readers while checking out The Fashion Bomb, I came across an interview that Andre Leon Talley did with CNN in regards to students who are graduating in fashion or want to pursue fashion the industry. The main point that he stresses throughout the interview is to stay with it regardless of how long it takes....if it is truly your passion. Fab readers I can not agree more, as someone who changed their major junior year of college (to Fashion Marketing) and moved across the country to pursue their passion, I support everything that he says. Even in this economy I believe that if it is something that you want, you persevere and push through until you reach your goal. I know this is something that everyone says but it is true, and I have to remind myself everyday to continue my tunnel vision until my goals have been met. Check out the video of the interview below.

Anna Sui the Next Designer for Go International

Fab readers we have received word that famed designer Anna Sui is going to be the next designer for Target's Go International collection. While Target has yet to confirm (or deny) rather or not she will design for the label, it has the fashion blog world buzzing. The collection is reportedly based off of the cast of Gossip Girls and is slated to arrive in Target stores Sept 13. We are interested to see what Anna Sui will bring to the table as far as designing to appeal to the masses because in our opinion her style is definitely love it or hate it. Hopefully this line will be carried in more Target locations than Alexander McQueen's collection (and have a lower price point). Check out a few pics below of Anna Sui's designs (Fall 2009 RTW) that caught our eye courtesy of style.com and let us know what you think.

Clip of the Week: Valentino: The Last Emporor

Fab readers, we know we usually start the week with a fab song but we decided to start this week with a fab movie clip. Valentino: The Last Emperor. We love watching documentaries....especially that chronicle icons in the fashion industry. Here is the  summary: VALENTINO THE LAST EMPEROR is a feature-length film on the legendary designer Valentino Garavani in the wake of his exit in 2008 from the company he founded in Rome more than 45 years ago. Produced and directed by Matt Tyrnauer, Special Correspondent for Vanity Fair magazine, the film is an intimate, engaging and very funny fly-on-the-wall exploration of the singular world of one of Italy's richest and most famous men. The film documents the colorful and dramatic closing act of Valentino’s celebrated career, tells the story of his extraordinary life and work, and also explores the larger themes affecting the fashion business today. But at the heart of the film is the unique relationship between Valentino and his business partner and companion of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammette. Click here to find out if it's playing in your area.

YSL Caged Boots Done Right

Fab readers, recently we did a post on the coveted YSL caged boots and lately they have been popping up on hollywood fashionistas everywhere. We do realize that these are a hard boot to pull off but we have constantly been left disappointed by pictures of women wearing them (sort of like the recent pics of the Balmain jacket). However, we were shocked (in a good way) when we saw this photo of Beyonce wearing the YSL boots while in Vienna, she looks effortlessly stylish and fresh. She was able to dress down the boot for a younger style, while maintaining that they were the focus of the outfit. This look is one of the best we have seen from her in a while. Let us know what you think about the look.
