The Highs and The Lows: Christian Louboutin vs H by Halston

Fab readers we have been obsessed with the Christian Louboutin Lady Daf MaryJane heel for quite some time but no matter how we look at it these shoes just aren't in the budget. We enjoy a splurge on a good pair of shoes as much as the next but just can justify spending just shy of rent on a pair of shoes.  The Lady Daf features a 6 1/4" heel with a 2" platform and can be yours for only $995...unfortunately the shoe is sold out everywhere (for those that can afford).

A POP of Color

Hey fab readers here is a look at what I wore to work today. I decided to add a splash of color with this coral top that I bought from Target. I think it makes a boring work outfit a little bit more tolerable :). I paired the shirt with a Zara Skirt and Forever 21 blazer (from 2 years ago). Hope you all have a fab day!!

Lazy Sunday

So as Im sure you have gathered...I love to be relaxed on Sunday's but still look put together and that is why I love maxi dresses. Sunday we went to church and with the weather being upper 80s I decided that it was perfect to pull out my H&M maxi dress with the my old navy cropped denim jacket. As I am never one to hold out this entire outfit cost less than $25.00 ;)

Another Day

Fab readers this feels like the longest week ever. I dont know why but I am excited for the weekend...no plans prob just miniature golfing with the kid (but I digress). Nothing fancy today, during the week for work i put forth minimal effort (at least I admit it)...a pair of Harem Jeans and pinstriped mens inspired shirt from H&M with a pair of cute but not comfy heels from Marshalls that were on sale for $15.00. Casual in Every Since of the Word

Hey fab readers here is a quick look at what I wore to work yesterday, we had a casual day and I took full advantage. By that I mean no make up no contacts and no heels ( well I always wear no conacts and make up to work...no need in wasting products just staring at a computer screen). I wore a shirt from forever 21 that I have had for years (literally since 2005) and Prvcy jeans and a pair of sandals from sears with Michael Kors Watch and cuff bracelet from Forever 21.

It's About Time B.E.T.!

We are sooooooo pleased with the airing of Reed Between The Lines! It has been LONG overdue for a sitcom portraying a positive image of the black family. After watching the initial two episodes we can say that we are pleased with the image that we have scene thus far. No unnecessary drama and more of the everyday things that a typical family would face. We had several LOL moments. We are urging our readers to please support Reed Between The Lines on Tuesday nights on BET, please check your local listings for the airing time in your area. Not since The Cosby Show have we scene anything such as this for our families. We were blessed to have The Cosby Show in our childhood era and we sure would love for this show to gain positive feedback and be able to stay on so that our sons have that same opportunity and your families as well! We thank BET for finally seeing the need to portray a positive image and actually move forward in doing so. Congrats to Tracee Ellis Ross, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and the rest of the cast! VERY realistic!

Natural Me!

Hey FAB Readers! For those of you who don't know, I have been living in LA for the past 8yrs. Ever since my relocation out west, my hair has suffered. Mainly due to the difference in water (the water here is harder than in Chicago and Alabama where I formally dwelled). This difference cause MAJOR damage to my hair. I'm talking about made it DRY, BRITTLE, and so UN-SEXY and UN-FAB. Because of that, I opted to wear weaves for the past 5 years (not to mention weaves are the "in thing" in LA). Well I did do a short cut 3 years ago which was SUPER CUTE then went back into a weave again for 2 years. Then I made excuses for maintaining a weave (such as I have to so I can work out..ummm I can still work out). Okay soooooo now I am back and rocking my natural hair and LOVING IT! I feel so free and more like my old self... ahhhhhhhhhh.... SO REFRESHING! I am thinking I will maintain my natural hair of a while and rock a weave when ever I get the urge but for now.. I'm GOOD!

Just a Look...

Hey FAB readers, I had purchased a jumper from Target.com like ummmm 3 years ago and I FINALLY opted to wear it on yesterday, just because.... I had been debating if I were going to keep the jumper or give it away. I decided that I should at least try the look on and rock it before I decide to toss or keep. And don't mind me, there are several pieces in my closet with the tags still on them well past a year or more. My sister is never pleased about that, she's more of a buy and wear type of girl. I choose to take my time and wear when I feel the urge or when the perfect event comes up. But again this was a Just Because It's Tuesday look... Later!

Wedding Bells Wedding Look

I had the pleasure of attending a friends wedding this weekend and decided to take advantage of the extremely warm weather here in LA and wear this fab dress that my sister Keedra got me for Christmas. The dress is from Bloomingdales and it was a part of the Vena Cava for Aqua collection. I absolutely adore the draping on the dress and decided to let the dress be the statement of the look pairing it with Cathy Jean Pumps and my black Michael Kors Watch. You will definately be seeing this dress again as holiday party season begins. Have a fab day

Chill & Relaxed..FAB Day

Hello FAB readers, I wanted to show this simple yet FAB look I sported on a chill day with the fam. We had a fun cultural day in LA and I opted to dress for the relaxed occasion. I chose a salmon colored over sized tank from H&M paired with some Tahari jeans and some fun bracelet's and some cute sandals I copped this summer. Kept it nice and simple but felt FAB all day long and received plenty of compliments on my sandals and shoes. I can;t go anywhere with those sandals on without hearing how cute they are... Have a FAB day lovelies! 

Fab Recipe: Hash Brown Quiche

Fab readers while our parents were in town visiting I decided to have a Saturday brunch at my place that included a fabulous recipe for a hash brown based quiche. I found the recipe while cruising on food network's website and I have to say that the dish was a HUGE hit!! Everyone loved it (including our father who hates eggs). The recipe was really simple and did not take long. I highly recommend this dish as it is a real crowd pleaser. If you want to try having your own simple brunch like I did just make this dish  (added spinach and used turkey ham) with fresh fruit, cheese danish and mimosas and you have a simple yet fab brunch :)

Try the recipe below

Ingredients

• 3 cups, shredded frozen hash browns, thawed and drained
• 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, melted
• 3 large eggs, beaten
• 1 cup half-and-half
• 3/4 cup diced cooked ham
• 1/2 cup diced green onions
• 1 cup shredded Cheddar
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Gently press the drained hash browns between paper towels to dry them as best as possible. In a 9-inch pie plate, toss the hash browns with the melted butter into the plate. Press them into the bottom and up the sides to form a crust. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and starting to crisp.

Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. When the hash brown crust is ready pour the egg mixture over it and return to the oven.

Lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for about 30 minutes until the quiche is light golden brown on top and puffed.

Get The Look: Draya from Basketball Wives LA

While looking online we ran across a picture of Draya attending an event for a fellow castmate of the reality show Basketball Wives. We have to say that we love this outfit, it is a perfect piece to close out summer (and take into the beginning of fall by pairing with a cardigan). While we able to find out the look  is by H&M it is no longer available, don't fret fab ones!! We were able to locate a similar look at ASOS with the Ropetie Jumpsuit for 49.40.  We definitely think that this is a piece that will flatter any shape and can definitely be taken into next season's wardrobe.

Taco Tuesday...Again

Here is a quick outfit post from this past Tuesday (Taco Tuesday!!!). I have to start by professing my love of Taco Tuesday, when else can you get $3.00 dollar drinks and $1.00 tacos. Me and my friend have made it our mission to test out Taco Tuesday's throughout LA County lol. I decided to wear a casual minidress that I have had for years and my Steve Madden over the knee boots (that no longer stay over my knees). This loose fitting dress was perfect for ingesting insane amounts of drinks and tacos while still looking cute. My favorite part of the look were the earrings that I purchased from Bakers for $9.00.

Evening Concert FAB...

Hello readers! Recently attended an evening outdoor jazz concert w/ my other half. We chilled to the smooth melodies and keys of the great Herbie Hancock. I chose to wear a bold colored Maxi dress (we  ADORE Maxi dresses), flat sandals, and a couple choice accessories.

Skybar 4 Brunch

Hello fab readers! I was recently taken to brunch at The Skybar inside of The Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood. The brunch was nothing less that amazing! Hubby and I opted for the outdoor seating. With amazing views of the LA skyline, paired with bottomless drinks and tasty eats... We had the perfect afternoon date. I chose the Calamari Salad with Fresh Fruit White Wine Sangria.  We both enjoyed the delicious food, yummy desserts, and perfect drinks!

Fab Shoe of the Week: Sam Edelman Uma Boot

This may be the shoe that makes us want fall to come immediately. Talk about love at first sight, The Sam Edelman Uma Bootie features a 5' heel  with pony hair leopard and zebra print. This stand out boot will add flare to just about anything in the closet with the color tone being neutral, it will be easy to get a bang for your buck ($250). We are obsessing over this boot, it's looking like this may be the first fall shoe purchase.

The Way I See Things...Black & White

Hey FAB readers! Today I wanted to share a look with you that I wore to a Saturday Brunch my hubby this past weekend. It was so simple yet so FAB! I received mounds of compliments which is always fun! I wore a simple black tank top with a cotton white skirt with black stripes. I chose a black flat sandal with a little character. My necklace is from Armani Exchange (LOVE IT!) and sterling silver earrings.... It was a fashionable look for a FABULOUSLY CHIC afternoon... I loved it because the look was on the lower end of my budget but I still felt as FAB as I do when I am rocking my higher end labels. This look proves that you can look FAB on ANY BUDGET! Key things to look out for are ensuring that your bra of choice is one on valor and the accessories you choose can help you achieve the look that you desire. Casual Heel 4 A Casual Day...

Hey FAB readers! My look for the the day was a more relaxed look.... I paired some denim Kenneth Cole shorts with a navy and tan striped summer sweater shirt but decided to dress it up a bit with a casual heal. Adding the heel took the look from being a lil cute relaxed summer day fit to an.... Oh she may be meeting her girls for coffee, lunch, or a matinee movie look. Good Eats...

We must admit... We absolutely LOVE dining well and enjoying the best of the best when it comes to food. We both enjoy preparing our home cooked meals that always hot the spot but some days you just want to relax and be served. Recently, I had one of those days where I wanted to be served, so I went over to our friends at Ruth's Chris and indulged in their succulent intensely marinaded Lamb Chops and let me just say... It was just what I needed to make my day amazing!

White & Champagne

Hey FAB readers... Went out last night for some cocktails with my girlfriend and decided to do a white jean that I bought almost 3 years ago but had never taken the tag off and worn (my sis HATES that I can hold out until wearing a new piece of clothing but I have MANY pieces like that in my closet). I decided to pair the jeans with a cute champagne over sized shirt from H & M along with a pair of Sam Edelman  heels and I was ready for a fun girls night out. If you know anything about LA then you know that our days are overtly HOT but our nights feel like a fall day! How the day and night time temps are 20-30 degrees different are still mind boggling to me but it is what it is...

While scrolling online we ran across a fab pic of Garcelle at the premier for The Help. We absolutely adore the look, there is something about wide legs pants that we love and incorporating the look with this season's trend of colorblocking and this is def a fab move. We just wish the bottom of the pants were hemmed for a more tailored look. Let us know what you think of the look, is it a hit or a miss.

Lunch Date FABness

Well hello FAB readers! Wanted to post some pics from my little lunch date with the MR the other day... Cali summer days can be HOT! I tried to keep it cool and chic with this simple but FAB look.
