Fab Look for Less: Maison Martin Margiela vs NYLA
Hey fab readers while surfing online for some fab boots for fall we came across these Maison Martin Margiela Wedge Ankle Boots. While we are unsure how we feel about the boot we think that they may be OK for an everyday look. These boots feature a studded design and a faux cut out style. While the look is not something that everyone will appreciate we have a feeling that even less people will love the price just shy of $900.00.
If this boot is your syle but the price is not then we have a feeling that you will love the NYLA Noelle Boots. These boots feature a 4" wedge heel with a similar studded design at only a fraction of the price. If these are your style then click here to shop as they are currently on sale for $99.00

Matthew Williamson for Macy's
Fab readers we must have been under a rock not to know that Matthew Williamson was designing a line for Macy's. While we admit we arent the hugest fans of Macy's however our mom is a die hard fan and shopper of Macy's, so imagine our interest when she informed us of the collab. Apparently the collection has been in the works for quite some time and it is scheduled to hit Macy's stores across the country on April 13. The collection is priced between $50-$120 with specialty pieces costing up to $300. The collection focuses on bold fun prints (perfect for spring/summer) in dresses rompers and skirts mostly. The collection seems to be OK, but there are definitely a few pieces that may cause us to stop by our local Macy's. Check out a few of our fave pieces from the collection and check out your local Macy's starting April 13.

Jean Paul Gaultier next to design for Target

The collaborations with Target don't look like they are going to end any time soon and appear to be getting better and better. It was announced that Jean Paul Gaultier is the next designer to partner with Target to design a collection. Gaultier is the third designer behind Alexander McQueen and Anna Sui to design a collection for Target, who both did extremely well marketing to the mass market shoppers. Gaultier's collection is scheduled to arrive in stores (250 stores)
March 7 - April 11. Target stated the collection is one that we shoppers will love, as it "pays tribute to the American woman, celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture,"[wwd]. Our only question is how toned down will the looks be for Target or will he continue with his over the top fashions that he has become synonymous with.

Models of Color Make Their Way Back on the Runway
After being whitewashed since Spring 2005, models of color are making their presence know once again at Rick Owens. For the Spring 2010 show at Rick Owens what was more talked about than the sculptural shoulderpieces; was the use of models that was chosen at his show. While it seemed to be an industry fact that Rick Owens was not interested in using models of color he shattered that myth by using four in this years collection. His show included models- Georgie Baddiel, Kinee Diouf, Aminata Niaria, and Rose Cordero. We are glad to see Rick Owen's show including ALL models now if only he can get the seating arrangements together (because it is never fab to double book seating and leave people standing during Fashion Week!!!).

A Fashion NIGHTMARE... Spooky

Hey FAB readers! Remember a few months ago when we posted an article regarding Lindsay Lohan becomeing Artistic Adviser of French Fashion House Emanuel Ungaro? Well Lindsay made her debut during Paris Fashion week. Lindsay has supposedly been advising designer Estrella Archs on the lines looks adn what direction teh looks to be going in. Well teh results are in from Paris and teh word on teh street is that the looks were "cheesy and dated." Style.com reported that the show was promising at first but quickly began to spiral downward and ended with a big PLOP at the end! After reading numerous reviews we the fashion jury have reached a verdict of Fashion Suicide to explain the looks that were debuted on that stage! Hopefully this won't send Lindsay back to rehab...stay strong girl... Everything isn't for everyone and apparently fashion advising was not what she was put here on Earth to do! Style.com attempted to give the line the benefit of the doubt by pointing out that Estrella Archs only had one month to pull the show together. If your are into drop crouched pants, sequins pasties, and draped silk jackets then this just may be a dream come true for you. But if not then we advise that you keep on looking for better selections from another line. Let give this a moment of silence as a critical DEATH has just occurred! We too must follow the lead of other bloggers across the globe and have this one the benefit of the doubt and just plan to keep Lindsay in our prayers, thoughts, minds and jokes... Tell us what you think, maybe we had sleep in our eyes when we looked through the photos.. Lindsay's look was also questionable :/

Storming Stylist...
As we know, NY FAshion week has come to an end and London Fashion week is under way. Canadian designer Mark Fast made a conscience decision to utilize both slimmer as well as curvier sized models in his runway show. Fast is known for his tight knitted dresses. The curvier sized models used were a sized through 12-14. This decision has caused havic between Mark Fast and is Management Team, to the point that one stylist walked out of teh show in disgust of the curvier women being apart of teh show... Talk about runway DRAMA! Mark Fast included 3 plus sized models (1 size 12, one size 14, and one in between both sizes). Managing Director, Amanda May, said that there were "creative differences" about the vision of casting curvier models and a team change took place. May stood by the decision of the vision and reported that utilizing curvier women was something that had been in discussion for a while. "We wanted women to know that they did not have to be a size zero to wear Mark Fast dress- curvier women can look even better in one." Fast has also been involved in an exhibition of All Walks Beyond The Catwalk, which features models aged 18-65 that are sized 8-16. Fast has concern about Euro women being under weight and not being treated medically or properly for eating disorders that numerous Euro models and natives have. We feel the acts of Mark Fast and the supportive end of his team are completely FAB! It feels good to see a normal sized model on the runway that has just as much swag as the zero model. Mark Fast has a vision, took a risk, and followed through with it. One stylist may have walked out (which was bogus as crap) but as they say in show biz, with or without you "the show must go on!"

Name Your Target...

A mere 4 days ago, September 13th, Anna Sui released her new line of clothing for Target. Back in May, the High End Designer announced that she had collaborated with Target to design clothing that is loosely based on the CW series Gossip Girls (Serena, Blair, Vanessa, and Jenny). What does this mean for us ladies? Well now we get to choose which character do we find we most emulate, style wise, and pick up some of the trendy pieces for a mere fraction of the cost of Anna Sui's High end designs. The price point for the Target line is between $19.99-$149.99... I think we can handle that, right ladies?! Anna Sui reported that the clothing line is a mix of the art and spirit of New York City blended with Sui's signature prints, silhouettes, and and use of color. So the next time you are in your local Target, take a moment to look through, create, and gain the swag of your fav Gossip Girl for a great price. The 2009 Fall collection is also available at target.com. We feel that these designs surely capture all of our hopes of being FABULOUS CHIC and CHEAP (or shall we say recession and budget friendly). Check out some of the Gossip Girls inspired looks below. Anna Sui did her thing with this one. We will def be rocking a several of the pieces in the very near future.

SHE... Made Her Debut

Monday, She by Sheree made it's debut during Fashion Week in New York. The wait has been long and hard as we have watched Sheree have a showing with no clothing during Season 1 of Real Housewives of Atlanta (how embarrassing)! The wait is over and the clothes have been revealed... Now what people think of it is the issue. We received several Tweets from people all day that were disgusted by the sight of the clothing. Sad, sad, sad after the way she played her co-star Lisa Woo on last weeks episode, as to say her line was going to debut and reign as though she was secretly Vera Wang or something! Also, surprisingly or not, none of the other Housewives of Atlanta were in attendance, what a pity. Anyways, we just had to share this tid bit of information and also post some of the pieces from the SHE by SHEREE line. Would we wear it? Uuuummm, well lets just say we will be waiting patiently for her next pieces to be displayed.... NO RUSH
