After being whitewashed since Spring 2005, models of color are making their presence know once again at Rick Owens. For the Spring 2010 show at Rick Owens what was more talked about than the sculptural shoulderpieces; was the use of models that was chosen at his show. While it seemed to be an industry fact that Rick Owens was not interested in using models of color he shattered that myth by using four in this years collection. His show included models- Georgie Baddiel, Kinee Diouf, Aminata Niaria, and Rose Cordero. We are glad to see Rick Owen's show including ALL models now if only he can get the seating arrangements together (because it is never fab to double book seating and leave people standing during Fashion Week!!!).

When I get dressed, I think of it as dress-up time, like the clothes are costumes pieces....I am not afraid of walking down the street in something that people think is crazy. What I can't stand is looking like everyone else.-Mary Kate Olson
