Beautiful Nightmare

Check out this spread of Harper's Bazaar, we can't stop looking at it. Something about the styling of this spread is so beautiful in a dark way, usually we aren't drawn to this genre of art but this spread is perfection. Let us know what you think of it

Faux Leather for Fall

Fab readers it seems as though faux leather is popping up everywhere for Fall at every price-point. Leather (faux) not only serve a purpose to keep you warm as the weather begins to change, it also can add an extra edge to an outfit. Often times a jacket served as a finishing look to an outfit, especially in situations when you don't take it off. We have seen faux leather jackets ranging in prices from $400 to $39.95. While we couldn't justify spending $400 on faux anything, we did run across some fabulous faux leather jackets for the Fall season. Many of the jackets we found were on trend in the style and texture and had great fits as well. Our favorite jackets came from Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe (and all were priced under $50) check them out below and let us know what you think. Will you rock faux leather this Fall...or do you prefer the real deal?

Sonyia Rykiel the Next Guest Designer for H&M

Fab readers we were super excited yesterday when we saw that Sonia Rykiel is going to be the next guest designer for H&M. The French house founded by the "Queen of Knits" represents the distinctive, modern and impertinent spirit of Paris and is now going to be available for fabulous shoppers on a budget. This marks the first time that H&M has extended it's designer collaboration to the world of lingerie and related accessories for women, with exclusive pieces to be launched in-store December 5, 2009. Sonia Rykiel is also going to carry the lingerie collection in her major boutiques (for you that don't feel like dealing with the H&M crowds). H&M and Sonia Rykiel will also introduce a second collaboration for spring 2010 featuring her iconic knitwear collection for women and girls accompanied by playful accessories. The second collection will be launched in 250 H&M stores on February 20, 2010. Who else is super excited for the collaboration?!?! We must say that we are really impressed with the direction that H&M has been going this season and it doesn't look like they are stopping anytime soon.

First Look: Jimmy Choo for H&M

OMG!!!! Fab readers that is the first thing that came out of our mouths when we saw the Jimmy Choo collection for H&M. Fab readers we absolutely love every piece of the Jimmy Choo Collection, we feel as though she stalked our dreams for the past month and knew that our current obsession was jumpers, sequins and fringe and did a whole collection based around it. Every piece in the collection is something that we would wear. The collection includes apparel for men and women, accessories and shoes. The color scheme consist of mainly black and gray with dashes of cobalt blue and zebra prints. It is slated to hit stores on November 14, 2009 at a select 200 H&M's across the globe (we have a feeling it's going to be insane). Check out a few of our fave looks and view the entire collection at nitrolicious.com.

Fab Model of the Week: Coco Rocha

The beautiful Coco Rocha has graced nearly every top catwalk and magazine within only a fews years. It seems as though she is definately emerging to be a supermodel elite in her short career in the modeling industry. The Canadian beauty was born September 10, 1988 and was discovered by a modeling scout during an Irish dance competition. Her big break in the Fashion industry came after she was introduced to famed fashion photographer Steven Meisel, who immediately fell in love with her. Soon after their meeting Coco Rocha covered the March 2006 issue of Vogue Italia, which took her career to the next level.

Coco Rocha's list that she has walked for is the who's who of fashion, it includes Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Mui Mui, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and most notably she opened and closed the Fall 2007 Jean Paul Gaultier show with an Irish dance down the runway(how fab!!!). Rocha has also landed ad campaigns for companies ranging from Gap to Lanvin (If that doesn't speak volumes of her versatility we don't know what does). Coco Rocha is definitely a soon to be supermodel in our books and we here at Fabulously Chic and Cheap look forward to watching the ride as her career catapults even further. Check out a few of out fave pics of her and let us know who you would like to see featured in our "Fab Model of the Week" posts.

P.S. Check out this cool video she shot for Fashion's Night Out ft. Chanel Iman

The Highs and The Lows: Stella McCartney Perforated Thigh High Boots

Rihanna in Stella McCartney Perforated Thigh High Boots

Fab readers our heart skipped a beat when we first saw the Stella McCartney Perforated Thigh High Boots, something about them let us know that everything was going to be right for the Fall 2009 season. We know that not everyone is loving the trend of thigh high boots for the Fall season. However we love them. The boots are perfection..the height, the design, everything makes us smile (except the price). The heel measures at 5" with a .5" platform. These runway boots have been spotted on Fashionista's including Rihanna and have been selling like hotcakes amongst fashion's elite crowd. These statement boots are also going to make a statement with your wallet costing $1,595. If you want to take advantage of these go to boots for fall click here to shop them at net-a-porter (we recommend that you act fast, as they are sold out in several sizes, WHAT RECESSION?!?)

Alright now, enough with living in the fantasy world of spending $1,595 on a pair of boots. If you love the look and style of the Stella McCartney boot and not the price like us, then let us introduce you to the Jeffrey Campbell Issue Black Leather Boots. The leather boots features perforated leather in a similar design of the Stella boots. While they are not going to go up to the thigh (and not as fitted), the boots will come over the knee with a 24" shaft. The best part is that the boots are only $160 at Jildor. Let us know what you think, does Jeffrey Campbell do a good job of "reinterpreting" the Stella McCartney Perforated Thigh High Boots.

Cute Arm Pieces For Less

We were surfing the web last night and scrolled across a few cute handbags on shopnordstrom.com. All of these handbags are priced $200 or less. We wanted to post them as we are continuously committing ourselves to be Recessionista Fashionista's... We all know that your handbag is an accessory that can make or break an outfit (along with your choice of shoes). Quite often you can wear the most regular fit but the right arm piece sets you apart from the other ladies in the room. Take a look at a few choices we picked. We are into the Satchel Handbags. Go to the site and go through the pages to find one handbag that best compliments your style.

Storming Stylist...

As we know, NY FAshion week has come to an end and London Fashion week is under way. Canadian designer Mark Fast made a conscience decision to utilize both slimmer as well as curvier sized models in his runway show. Fast is known for his tight knitted dresses. The curvier sized models used were a sized through 12-14. This decision has caused havic between Mark Fast and is Management Team, to the point that one stylist walked out of teh show in disgust of the curvier women being apart of teh show... Talk about runway DRAMA! Mark Fast included 3 plus sized models (1 size 12, one size 14, and one in between both sizes). Managing Director, Amanda May, said that there were "creative differences" about the vision of casting curvier models and a team change took place. May stood by the decision of the vision and reported that utilizing curvier women was something that had been in discussion for a while. "We wanted women to know that they did not have to be a size zero to wear Mark Fast dress- curvier women can look even better in one." Fast  has also been involved in an exhibition of All Walks Beyond The Catwalk, which features models aged 18-65 that are sized 8-16. Fast has concern about Euro women being under weight and not being treated medically or properly for eating disorders that numerous Euro models and natives have. We feel the acts of Mark Fast and the supportive end of his team are completely FAB! It feels good to see a normal sized model on the runway that has just as much swag as the zero model. Mark Fast has a vision, took a risk, and followed through with it. One stylist may have walked out (which was bogus as crap) but as they say in show biz, with or without you "the show must go on!"

Gifts for the Label Whore in Your Life-Juicy Couture Snakeskin Link Bangle

Fab readers we were super excited when we ran across this Juicy Couture Bangle on neimanmarcus.com. The Snakeskin Link Bangle is a 14k yellow gold plated link motif bracelet and is currently on clearance for only $58.00. While we admit Juicy Couture doesn't make the best accessories in terms of quality for the price (when at full price). For only $58.00 the Snakeskin Link Bangle might definitely be worth the investment, as this piece can be worn alone or worn as a great layering piece as well. Click here to shop the look and more at neimanmarcus.com

Who Knew A Good Look Was So Hard To Find?

Okay so after hours and hours of surfing through pictures of last nights Emmy Awards, we have come to the conclusion that there just weren't many lookers last night. I mean goodness, how irritating... My eyeballs are sore at thing point so I just give up! The few, the proud, the appropriate can be scene to your left (when we finally ran across them we said "It's About Damn Time.") The red number worn by Blake Lively from Gossip Girls is a statement piece because not everyone has the swag to rock this piece, being red and all so we just slapped her up here as well! Vanessa Williams is always a beauty to behold. Kim K's gown was actually quite nice and was flattering on her. Her sister, Courtney, is pretty preggers! Overall the looks of yesterday evening, as a group, did not live up to our expectation.. But then again, there are barely any shows on television worth looking at in general anyways!!!! Girlfriends, The Game.. You ARE soooo missed! NeNe was funny and was appropriately dressed as well for her co-hosting of the red carpet. Congrats to NeNe for being asked to come on board for that... We see you NeNe.

Public Service Anouncement: Shar Jackson 2009 Emmy Awards

Fab readers, often times we see people in outfits that we would never wear, however, we don't say anything because we understand that fashion is purely subjective and often times it's not what you wear, but HOW you wear it that matters (a la Rihanna). Often times we get the side eye from people when we walk down the streets for our outfits, so who are we to judge? However, something must be said for the fuckery that is Shar Jackson at the 2009 Emmy awards. We would just like to know who let her leave out wearing this...no...seriously who deemed this look red carpet appropriate?!?! There are soooo many things wrong with this picture, but we are going to stay focused on the dress. Is it just us or does the dress look like something you would find in the clearance section at David's Bridal? With this P.S.A. we would like to say: Shar we loved you during the days of Moesha and would really really like to love you again (especially after the K-Fed debacle) but you are making it really hard for us when you leave out like this...please get your life together, starting by burning this dress!!

Now back to you fabulously scheduled lives

Fab Song of the Week: Alanis Morissette-Ironic

OMG Fab readers we used to loooooove Ironic by Alanis Morisette. We still do love it, this is such a great karaoke song. "Ironic" brings back such great memories (wow 1996...boy time moves at the speed of light). Check out the video below and have a great Monday :-)

Christopher Kane for Topshop

Fab readers how excited are we about the latest collection that Christopher Kane has done for Topshop?!?! We have had a mild obsession with Christopher Kane's prior collections and this one is no exception. The line includes a variety of embellishments including rivets, mirrors, eyelets and lots of mesh and we love it!!! The collection also includes the introduction of accessories and shoes. Our excitement went up to another level once we saw the infamous gorilla shirt/dress in a croc print (for only $125)...check out a few of our faves and let us know what you think. Click here to view the entire 39 piece collection that ranges between $60 and $310.
